Aventus is not one fragrance. It is a name attached to a long run of batches, and the batch on the bottom of the bottle is what decides whether you get the smoky one, the fruity one, or the soft one. Creed has never published a key, so anyone who tells you a code means something exact is guessing. What is not a guess is how the juice smells, and that is what the archive keeps notes on.
It is stamped on the bottom of the bottle and printed on the base of the box. It is short, usually four to six characters, and it is not the same as the barcode.
It identifies the production run. The commonly read pattern is a year digit, a letter for the run within that year, and a trailing pair. Creed has never published an official key, so every public decoder is a community reading, including this one.
Aventus leans on natural materials, and naturals move with the harvest. Add reformulation across years and two batches of the same name genuinely differ in smoke, fruit and how long they last.
There is no single answer, it depends on whether you want the smoky side or the fruity side. The batch pages here carry an honest note on each one rather than a ranking.
The code tells you which run a bottle came from. It does not tell you what is in it. For that, all 35 batches compared side by side.
